SSE crossroads
A relatively recent name, using SSE crossroads rather than the Sc equivalent crossgates, the eponymous crossroads appear on maps from Ainslie/Fife (1775) onwards, where the road from Methil to the early industrial development on the River Leven at Kirkland crosses the main coastal road from Wemyss to Leven (at the above NGR). Crossroads is today the name of part of the town of Methil.
