G dail + ?
G dail ‘watermeadow’ presumably refers in this name to the flood-plain of the Canal Burn.
It is described by David Beveridge as ‘an ancient hamlet on the road from Kincardine to Alloa, c.2 miles north of the Kincardine’ (1885 ii, 374). The NGR is from OS 1866 map.
There is a field called Dalwhamie at the western edge of Gallowhill Common by Kinross KNR (1793 × 1796 KMM.1977.1.13). It seems to be the same name as Dalquhamie TUL.
