Sc miln + Sc den

‘Steep valleys or dens with a mill’. It was the main mill of the parish of Kinglassie (Goatmilkshire) (RMS ix no. 1526). Sc dean is a variant of den ‘steep valley or gorge’, and is more frequent south of Forth, while den is the usual form north of Forth.
