Sc common

Lying right on the KGH/BUI boundary, its name indicates that it was created out of land shared by both parishes, probably (though not necessarily) as commonty. Compare also Common Rocks, off the coast between Aberdour and Burntisland, through which the ABO/BUI parish boundary runs, and in which inhabitants of both parishes had rights, as witnessed by the clashes between the two groups over oyster-fishing there in the mid-nineteenth century.
