The second element may be G fòid or fòd (OG fót) ‘peat, sod, divot’, found also in Foodie DAE, which has given rise to Craigfoodie DAE, above, and in Fod DFL (PNF 1); or G fada (OG fota, fata) ‘long’. The same name appears in a boundary description of Dunduff DFL as Cragfode (1231 Dunf. Reg. no. 196).
