West Myre 1855 OS 6 inch 1st edn
SSE or Sc west + SSE or Sc mire
It lies immediately west of Lordscairnie Castle, and at the head of the Moonzie Burn, which drains it, flowing east. It is shown, but not named, on Ainslie/Fife (1775) as a bulge at the west end of a much larger mire on the south side of Lordscairnie; this mire stretches eastwards into KLM parish, making it about 2 km from west to east.
See Lattiesholl # MNZ above for possible alternative name for West Myre, which may also have been known as Holecairnie # (see Lordscairnie MNZ).
