‘Hall or high-status house associated with the Fernie family’? Ferniehall is adjacent to Foxton CUP, and probably formed part its lands. In 1538 Francis Ramsay of Foxton sold to William Fernie, son of Andrew Fernie of that ilk (MML) and Barbara Logan half of Foxton (RMS iii no. 1905; see Foxton CUP for more details). It appears on OS Pathf. as Ferniehall Cottages.
