Bught Craig 1855 OS 6 inch 1st edn
Sc boucht + Sc craig
Sc boucht (bowcht, bucht, bought, bught) has two distinct meanings: (1) ‘sheepfold, small inner fold for milking ewes’; and (2) ‘bend’. The eponymous crag (Sc craig) is a wooded, rocky outcrop near Naughton Castle. It curves round through about 250 degrees, suggesting the second of the two meanings.
Though it is not shown on OS Pathf., it appears on OS 1:10,000 map (2006).
