‘Hill with crest or ridge’ (i.e. a comb or Sc kame), corresponding to the description in OS Name Book (49, 7), ‘a small hill of ridge like shape’, which has Englished the name. It was on the crest of this hill that the Class I Pictish stone originally stood, as described in ABE Intro. (NMRS NO21NE 10).
It is not named on OS Pathf., but appears on OS 1:10,000 map (2006).
