‘Head or end of the peat-bog or moss’ (ceann na mòna).

It is possible, though unlikely, that Kilmonane in RMS ii no. 1444 represents this place. It occurs in that charter with the following places: Boarhills SSL, Falside KBS, Kylmonane and Kenly SSL (Byrehill, Fauside, Kylmonane, Kenlochquhy). Despite the fact that Falside is in KBS (formerly CRA), as is my suggested Kilminning CRA (Taylor 1996, 99, 106), RMS ii no. 1444 does seem to locate Kylmonane more in the Boarhills area. This identification between Kylmonane and Kinnemone # is tentatively suggested by Proudfoot 1996, 395.
