Sc burn + Sc side

This farm, beside the burn opposite what is shown on OS Pathf. as Pitmilly Mill (which is not named as such on the 1775 or 1855 maps), may be the site of the original Pitmullen SSL, q.v.

OS Pathf. also shows Burnside Muir and Burnside Wood, 2.4 km west of Burnside. In spite of their distance, these lands do actually belong to Burnside.[271] Just north of Burnside Muir, on the main road from St Andrews to Boarhills, is OS Pathf. Burnside Muir Cottage (NO549138), which appears simply as Moor Side on Ainslie/Fife (1775).
