Sc kirk + Sc latch

‘Small burn (latch) associated with a kirk’. Neither the kirk nor the burn of the name is obvious. It is possible that the water-course was conduited at an early date. Pittenweem parish kirk is about 900 m to the south-west, the manse 200 m to the south-west.

It survives in the modern street-name Kirklatch Court, as well as in the house-name Kirklatch Cottage.
