Enerly Burn

Enerly Burn ~ LSL W NO223012 1 373 110m

Enerly Burn 1856 OS 6 inch 1st edn

? + Sc burn

It enters the River Leven near Ingleside House at the NGR given. It flows through the western part of the lands of Strathenry, and appears to form the eastern march of the lands of Westerton (of Strathenry). It has clearly been severely straightened, apparently in the second quarter of the nineteenth century, since it is shown (though not named) on SGF (1828) as being full of twists and turns, while OS 6 inch 1st edn shows it in its modern straightened course.

For further discussion of this name, see Strathenry LSL, below.
