en Blebo + Sc holl
‘Blebo howe or hollow’, accurately describing its position in a dip below the road. A ruin when visited 19 March 1995, it has since been completely restored as a dwelling house. For a time following the restoration it was re-named Blebo Hall, but it is now called Blebo Hole once more.
A fort with at least two ditches has been identified on the escarpment south-east of the house (NO4245 1324, NMRS NO41SW 11).
