‘Wood mill’ usually refers to a mill in or by a wood; however in this case it probably refers to a mill where a wood used to be, since it was one of the farms created on the site of the Park or Wood of Falkland after the mid seventeenth century. It was powered by the water of the Ballingall Burn, as well as from Nine Wells (formerly Eden’s Springs, the source of the Eden).
