The lands of Lathrisk, although mainly in KTT, clearly extended into FAL (see KTT Introduction, Lands of Lathrisk, below). In the 1850s the OS Name Book states that ‘it is a large and commodious farm ... the proprietor is Mr William Johnstone Esq. of Lathrisk’ (15, 21).
Another example of a Newton being in a different parish from its core lands is provided by Balcanquhal SLO and Newton of Balcanquhal, Arngask PER, FIF (PNF 4).
