Falkland Mill lay near here, on OS Pathf. West Loan, and is probably ‘the mill of Falkland’ (molendinum de Falkland) mentioned in 1541 (RMS iii no. 2466) (see Falkland, above).
This mill has also given its name to OS Pathf. Mill Burn, which once supplied the main power for the mill, and which now feeds the pond at the East Lodge of Falkland Estate.
