The place which gave Gask Park its name, Gask itself is unknown. But it must be derived from G gasg ‘ridge or tail of land’, a very common element in Fife, for which see Elements Glossary PNF 5. Here it presumably refers to some relief feature on the East Lomond (Falkland Hill), of which Gask Park forms the south-eastern slope.
