OS Explorer shows this site as Tarvis (sic) Mill House. In 1541 James V confirmed to Alexander Inglis of Tarvit (Tervait) the lands, tower and mill of Tarvit (RMS iii no. 2273); in 1550 Queen Mary confirmed ‘the lands of Tarvit with their mill and the milntoun’ (terras de Tervat, molendinum earundem et lie Mylntoun) to Alexander Inglis and his wife (RMS iv no. 406).
