Keirchappell 1623 RMS viii no. 623 [to George Martene of Carden ... Coldeane, Keirchappell ...]
S. Keirs Chapel 1775 Ainslie/Fife
en Keir + Sc chapel
The chapel stood at the site marked ‘burying place’ on SGF (1828). In 1993 a resistivity survey was conducted within an area of 550 square metres over the old burial ground, referred to as ‘Kiers Brae Old Burial Ground’, the exact NGR of which is given as NT23919458. A small zone of high resistivity was found roughly in the middle of the site, indicating possible structural remains, an impression supported by some trial pits (DES 1993, 28).
