Bridgend lies at the north end of the bridge which carries the old Ceres–Cupar road over the Ceres Burn, immediately downstream from where it is joined by the Craigrothie Burn. Millar (1895 i, 141) describes Bridgend as ‘the new suburb’ of the town of Ceres.
