Sc bordland

‘Mensal land, land providing produce directly to the laird’s table (Sc bord)’. The NGR is of Boreland on SGF (1828), which is called Borelandhill on OS 6 inch 1st edn. The lands of Boreland lay to the north of the Black Devon.

The lands of Boreland included Milton SLN and Townhead SLN, which latter appears on both Ainslie/Fife (1775) and Ainslie/West Fife (1827) as the more westerly of the two places called Borland.
