Sc rye + Sc hill

‘Hill where rye grows’. It lay only a few hundred metres south-west of the castle motte. In charters it is always linked with Kinstair # LEU. It is shown on the 1785 estate plan as lying on the east side of the road where the old road to Fordel and Craigie forked east off the main road north-west out of Leuchars village (the A919) (RHP1684).
