Brown’s Hill 1855 OS 6 inch 1st edn
See discussion of Whirly Kips FLK, below. With respect to its earlier name, OS Name Book (42, 4) states: ‘A Hill on the Farm of Dunmore a great portion of which is covered with Furze etc. It is said to be named after an old Shepherd named Brown who herded here many years ago’.
