en Troy + SSE wood

It does not appear on maps earlier than the OS. It is the site of the so called Secret Bunker. OS Name Book (83, 23) states that ‘it derives its name from a house which formerly stood near it called The Troy, but not a vestige now remains of it.’

Troy Wood forms a long, thin strip which at its west end runs into Redwells Wood. The above NGR and height is of a point beside the name as it appears on OS Pathf. 374.
