Sc whaup + Sc rest

‘Curlew rest’. It is not named on OS 6 inch 1st edn (1855). Eggeling writes: ‘Whaup Rest: a rocky flat between Rona and the North Ness, isolated at high tide, where a [lighthouse-]keeper once shot a Curlew’ (1985, 252). Eggeling code L pushes the earliest record back to the 1920s.
