‘Blebo crags or rocks’. There is a relief feature on the north of the settlement which is marked on OS 6 inch (1856) as Blebo Craigs. It is described by OS Name Book as ‘a small hill of ridge-like shape ... its surface consists of rocky pasture partly covered with furze and fir wood. From this object the village of Blebocraigs takes its name’ (57, 56).

The NGR given above is for the road junction and phone-box at Blebocraigs, more or less central to the settlement area. OS Pathf. also shows Blebocraigs Quarry at NO424156.

OS maps such as OS Pathf. show a remarkable density of wells or springs in and around Blebocraigs, none of which seems to have given rise to any place-names.
